Dan Jenkins - Developer, President, Architect 

Dan is a multiple award-winning architect based in Calgary, Canada. His company, Jenkins and Associates Architecture, designs communities, buildings and "places" of timeless beauty and value, that are appropriate to their context, respect the environment, and provide a superior quality of life for their inhabitants.

Oceano Luxury Seaside Village is a result of many years of his searching for the ‘right place’ and discovering it on Roatan Island in the Southwest Caribbean. Dan’s sensitive development approach is truly sustainable and leading edge. He is a Member, Alberta Association of Architects, AAA; Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, MRAIC and Member, Architectural Institute of British Columbia, MAIBC.

Don Douglas - Advisor, Director

Don has served as President of United Communities, one of Canada’s most successful real estate development companies, since it commenced operations in July 1993 and as President of its predecessor and associated companies. He has been, and continues to be, a director of numerous investment and management companies in Alberta, including United’s.

Don holds an MBA from IMEDE Management Development Institute in Lausanne, Switzerland and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta. He also is a member of the World Presidents’ Organization in Alberta. 

Andy Harris – Director of Marketing

Andy provides strategic marketing, planning and sales direction leadership for Oceano. His background is in resort development and tourism infrastructure in South East Asia, Europe and Canada. Andy has worked with clients such as Shangri La Hotels, Singapore Mandarin Hotels, Pan Pacific Hotels and developments in Canmore, Vernon, Osoyoos, Kamloops and the Columbia Valley in Canada in addition to advising projects in the Bahamas and Mexico. Based in the Calgary office Andy will also oversee the on-island real estate activity for Oceano.

Wayne Newell - General Manager and CFO

Wayne was awarded his Certified Management Accountant’s designation in 1972 and since that time has provided financial and management leadership in the construction, property management and hospitality industries.

His significant experience as Chief Financial Officer for large Canadian construction companies will enable him to develop, monitor and control the financial and administrative aspects of the development. He relocated to Roatan in July.

Wayne’s focus as general manager is to ensure compliance with all legal and administrative matters in Honduras, a challenging task as procedures and efficiencies differ markedly from North American standards. His focus as CFO is to monitor all contracts, obtain appropriate levels of project financing and monitor the fiscal well being of Oceano.

Ivan Jones - Civil Engineer & Contractor

Ivan hails from Roatan and trained as a Civil Engineer. He gained great experience and a loyal team while he was Roatan’s Municipal Engineer and Deputy to the National Congress. Ivan’s local knowledge, can-do attitude, network of contacts and skills as our engineer and contractor are unmatched on Roatan. Ivan is married and lives almost next door to Oceano.
